To know Dr. Alvarez, is to be in the company of a very concerned Professional Audiologist with her patients. My experience with Dr. Alvarez is 2 fold, one for myself and one for my wife. I would like to speak of my wife's experience first, since it is more extensive than mine. Bernice August my wife, first met Dr. Alvarez about a year ago at which time hearing aids were prescribed for her. A short time later she was diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease, and begain residence in an assisted living home. After having her hearing aids Dr. Alvarez went to see her to be sure she was comfortable with them, all on Dr. Alvarez time. This impressed me, and I want to share it with you. Dr. Alvarez is not an ordinary hearing professional. She goes above and beyond the call of duty in providing exceptional hearing health care. She has always been there for my hearing aids. I have called and she has provided help on the same day. She always has her secretary call and makes an appointment for a follow up “just to check up on my hearing device and see how I am doing.” I like that! She is very attentive of my needs. I would love for Dr. Alvarez to be considered as the hearing professional of the year 2010. She does an outstanding job. My daughter is very pleased how I am now hearing and I owe it all to Dr. Alvarez.

Myself and my wife, Jayne, have used the services of Dr. Alvarez at her office since September of 2008, and we have found her to be very pleasant, sincere, trust worthy, and has a very high degree of integrity.
Both Jayne and I had been searching for an Audiologist to help correct our hearing problems. She had been going to another Audiologist and became very disappointed with his continual unsatisfactory treatments, and his rather expensive recommendations to correct her hearing problems.
Jayne responded to the Grand Opening Announcement for Dr. Alvarez and made an appointment. I went along with Jayne to her second or third appointment with Dr. Alvarez, and I was extremely impressed with Dr. Alvarez’ abilities and patient treatment. I inquired about my hearing aids for myself, and Dr. recommended the external type. I got them and have been happy ever since. I had been using my older hearing aids as provided by the Veterans Affairs Administration, but they just never worked properly.
Dr. Alvarez diagnosed our conditions and prescribed accurately, and her follow up care has been more than one could expect.
These are the reasons why we are suggesting Dr. Alvarez be considered for the Hearing Professional of the Year.

Dr. Alvarez truly cares for her patients. She is concerned that their hearing is improved, regardless of what is involved. Dr. Alvarez never hurries, or pushes her patients to make decisions. She is very patient and sensitive to their decision options, limited or otherwise, in their socioeconomic reality. Dr. Alvarez is “up” all the time, very positive, which helps! If a patient is frustrated with their lack of hearing and the resulting communication issues, her counsel is very practical and appropriate to the intellect of the patient. She treats all of her patients equally well, as a professional and socially. Each of her patients feel they are her “favorite.” I very likely would not be wearing hearing aids right now if not for Dr. Alvarez. My loss is 20-40% and I was doing “OK” in my profession without aids. She completely understood my vanity issue, being a public speaker, and worked with me through two models of aids until I was comfortable with the aids I use now. Dr. Alvarez is my favorite doctor of all the docs I utilized in my 62 years,
